Don't Miss Brenda's Upcoming Release Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Hamilton, Canada native Brenda Brown studied Music at Mohawk College and Laurentian University. She has been singing professionally since 2012. Brenda’s approach to her art is to combine her smooth and expressive voice with a distinguished selection of repertoire. She is motivated by a sincere desire to uplift and entertain her audiences. Brenda loves the old standards, but is always looking for good songs from any era. For Brenda, the point of singing a song is connecting with people.

In 2013 Brenda teamed up with Toronto Canada jazz musician Ross Wooldridge to record her debut EP. The remarkable debut earned a nomination for Jazz Recording of the Year at the 2015 Hamilton Music Awards. The Brenda Brown EP was a refreshing cross section of well known tunes. It included Rodgers and Hart’s Blue Moon, Bob Dylan’s Make You Feel My Love, and Gershwin’s Our Love Is Here To Stay and Brenda’s original song, I Don’t Talk To Strangers.

Brenda has been steadily building her audience in the Toronto-Hamilton area. She has performed at the Dundas Cactus Festival, The Artword Artbar, the Pier 8 Waterfront Stage, the Downtown Hamilton BIA's Localicious and Oakville’s West End Jazz Festival. Brenda has also performed at numerous private and corporate events and receptions. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Laurentian University, and has taught music in Hamilton public schools and privately. She also holds degrees in education from Charles Sturt University and Nipissing University. Her latest offering is a collection of exciting new arrangements called “Life Among Giants” to be released early in 2020. The single Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is being released in November 2019.
